He shrugs "Suit yourself". The dagger disappears.

So, Forge doesn't destroy anything, doesn't leave, goes back to the level he left, or does he...

Forge makes sure we have the three bodies (our two comrades) and the wizard's, the staff, globe, magic bag etc. and heads out of the tower.

Forge asks whether any of the party know if we can find someone in the Hall who can help transfer the magical properties of his battered armor to a shiny new set of plate mail. Forge also counts the gold, gems etc. He makes a [?] check to determine value of gems and jewelry etc. He also stuffs the magic bag with as many of the blank books as he can in order to determine its capacity. He will also spend some time with the staff to see if he can determine what it does.
OOC: will determine whether I retrain a feat for Plate prof.

Forge bashes his head against the wall a few times.

How does Forge get the wizards body? Does he return to the shrine...and how?
How does Forge carry the three bodies, or propose to?
How does he leave the tower?
(Don't worry about leveling yet, it hasn't happened)

"Perhaps simply showing them the staff will suffice. I'm not opposed to carrying our 'mates back for a proper dead booking but I'm not interested in carrying that berk all the way. If'n they want to see a rotter, we'll tell 'em where to find it."

Forge shrugs at the thiefling's suggestion and hefts the heavier of the two bodies we have with us. The staff alone should be enough and we can return if we need to. Forge, along with the rest of the party presumably, makes his way from the library to the teleporting circles leading out of the tower (two more to go after the library level I believe).

"That is a noble thought, to bear back the bodies of our fallen comrades. I am in agreement; perhaps Lucien, you and I could manage to carry Rafa (assuming Forge has Zhuva). I also agree - I do not think we need to carry the wizard's body back. I too think the staff should suffice. Let the wizard's carcass feed the carrion and denizens of this accursed place." Buckthorn will follow the party back to wizard's chamber using the teleportation portals - and then suggests that they - quickly - come back carrying the bodies of their fallen comrades and make their way back to the Seven Pillared Hall retracting their steps, using the teleportation portals.

(I assume) You inform Bart in some detail of your encounters, perhaps motivated by the desire for him to provide additional information, or to make him feel guilty for his absence. You succeed to varying degrees on both counts.
Nonetheless, he does seem distracted.
“Paldemar was clearly working with the gnolls to gather dark relics and knowledge for his foul rituals”…”the tank and other details you mentioned, may have allowed him to control these ancient bronze minotaur statues…perhaps to the point that he could have seized control of this hall from his fellow mages.” “As for the skull and the book, one cannot be sure”. Blinks. “And the shadow” (glances at Lucian) “yes, clearly something is out of sorts”. He cradles a book he is holding.
In fact, between the three of you, one would notice that he has spent a great deal of time with one book. Buckthorn or Lucian might even speculate that the book was taken from the cultist in Winterhaven, where it was being used in a ritual in an under-cathedral of Orcus to open a rift to the shadow realm that bridges the land of the living with that of the dead. At least one might speculate that it was that particular tome.
But before one could confirm. Bart was gone.
Orontor, the some-time masked Mage of Saruun, Ulthand the dwarf from the Deep-Gem mining company, and the halflings at the Inn are all excited by the demise of Paldemar, the return of the huge boar, and the rescue of Buckthorns cousin, respectively. Great rewards are had.
Though if you provide both the staff and the silver key to the shrine of Vecna, the rewards will be greater still…do you provide them to the mage?
Let me know!

Absolutely! Now that we are back in town, Forge is anxious to divide the spoils of our victory! Forge will take his share and blow 10% or so on having a good time and then visit the shops in town to see if he can pick up anything of use. Also, he will try and determine what magical services are available here (such as transfer enchantment etc). Based on how they came in handy last time, potions of healing are high on his wish list.

And so the final rewards are given (see email), final toasts made, and all are seen as heroes.
But the heroes feel the many wounds taken over these last few weeks (or was it just days)? And they now have a small (ok, quite small) fortune on their hands…time for rest and relaxation is here.
The Labyrinth of the Slavers is now complete.
