Upon finishing off the wights, Lucien slowly, cautiously makes his way back into the chamber. If no other (un)life stirs, the Tiefling begins to search the room including the statue. Once he reaches the door on the far side, he will listen for noise.
Regardless of jink or sound recovered, Lucien will quietly slink back to his comrades. "I suggest we use that unused overlook outside as a kip to regain our strength. In the process, we can also gain some dark on any comings and goings over the near bridge. What say you, eh cutters?"

Buckthorn will listen to see if he can hear the sounds of any other creatures stirring in the chamber. He will also look back at the way they had come to see if he can see any signs of pursuit.
"I agree, friend Lucien. Though I am not much harmed, I think our party is exhausted and could do with a good rest before venturing further into this warren. The overlook outside is as good a place as any. I suggest we keep a keen watch though for any pursuit. "

Bart: the gate/portcullis opens, and duargar emerge carrying the bodies of brutish humanoids that you may or may not recongnize as orcs. They are slowly dumping the bodies into the chasm.
There are 3 gray dwarves you can see, right now the gate is open.
Buckthorn, Lucian, and Rafa: In the chapel, there is still the fierce and demonic minotaur statue that is probably Baphomet. Across the room to the west is a rusty iron door (this is very much stuck). Rafa is not sure what he saw.
From the landing outside, looking across the chasm, you also notice the dwarves emerge, and start heaving the bodies. And, is that someone crouching so as not to be seen, wait, is that….

How would Bart find them? Buckthorn would tip off their position by shooting a duergar in the face. Knowing that arrow, and were it came from, Bart would use his stealth and knowledge of dungeon lay-out to wind his way to the bridge and across to meet the Halfling plus Rafa, Lucian, and Garron. Meanwhile, two slaves had made a break. Their diabolical guards let themselves be distracted by the commotion caused by the 4 adventurers, and that was enough for “Forge” and Zhuva to make their break, grab their stuff and run….right into our “heroes”. It would be their great strength that allowed the somewhat arrogant dwarf and enigmatic almost human seeming genasi escape, and exactly what the party needed to free the rest of the slaves. Hours were spent resting in the battlements aside the wight part covered chapel of Baphomet. Then the two escapees would lead the party back to the slave pits. It was a seen from hell, with a duergar that could call forth hail and brimstone and two devils with nasty spines and nastier attitudes. Mayhem ensued, but the dwarf fortified party would travail against the devil reinforced dwarves. 14 more slaves were rescued. Most from Buckthorn’s village. But this joy was tempered by some concern for other slaves or others being taken as slaves, and more concern for the certain treasure of the gray dwarves, which had not been found. Murkelmor, the leader of these knaves, was said to be nearby. And the next battle would soon be joined. The main duergar revealed his position by ranting and raving, and the party very much got the jump on him. Another brimstone calling theurge and duergar that could take giant size were not enough, nor was Murkelmors own flaming maul and using it to knock Zhuva into a supernaturally hot fire and almost killing her a few times. Even the orc minions and an temporary escape through the secret panel in the fireplace (leaving Rafa more incredulous then normal: see atachment) were not enough. Vengeance was had, the slaving duergar severally weakened, and that treasure was found. The names of the two elves, perhaps journeying from the West Woods to Auldshire to meet some likeminded halflings before being attacked by slavers, are not known. But their cloaks, armor, and weapons were recovered, together with a demon statue and a number of magic hammers made by the now slain duergar master smith smith. It was the greatest collection of magic they would, or may ever, see. With some delay, they would also realize they had found a map, showing a location deeper in the labyrinth. Perhaps the location of the Blackfang gnolls that were taking many of the slaves (including the still missing Noldo?), the Well of Demons? With this booty and the freed slaves, the party set off, grabbing the skull scepter requested by the Drow merchant on the way. Only to run into those corpse chucking duergar. Smart enough to have some idea what had happened, they step aside. Back in the hall, with the slaves freed, Garron takes his hammer (actually a flaming maul) and like Grothog, Samm, Torin and—involunatrilly—Donne and Thaedris, takes his leave from Bart and the others. There is some training and resting to do. Please post by Monday PMAttachments:

While traveling back to (wherever we are going), Forge asks the mighty wizard Bart whether he has the ability to transfer enchantments (ooc - as in the transfer enchantment ritual) so that he may continue to use his trusty battleaxe. If not, he asks whether Bart knows if such services can be acquired at (wherever we are going).

First of all, Bart takes the time to respond to Forge's request by examining the magic items in question. Bart is aware of the rituals that he possesses, but since he has not yet used "magic item" feats he is not sure that he can perform what is being asked of him. He concentrates on the items, and waits for the answer to come to him. (OOC: Answer from DM requested). As far as others who can perform such services, he directs Forge to ask Gendar the Drow. If anyone knows, it would be him.
Then, Bart waits to make sure no one has any objections before turning the skull-sceptre into Gendar as part of completing our end of the bargain. While there, Bart shows the map to Gendar, and asks if he is familiar with the area depicted at all, and especially if he knows anything about the denizens. "Are they in fact the Blackfang gnolls?" Bart then asks Gendar if he is able to sell Bart a copy of the "Disenchant Item" ritual, or if not, if he knows of anyone in the Seven Pillared Hall who might be able to. Finally, admitting that its a bit of an unusual question, Bart speaks to Gendar that a "friend" back in Winterhaven was asking for some kind of memento demonstrating that I had visited here and seen the wonders. Anything that is particularly unique or fitting of that description? (Bart pokes around for a spoon or thimble labelled "Saruun Khel.")
Next Bart examines the Demon statue that was recovered more closely. Has anyone claimed it as treasure? Does it represent anything particularly unique about Saruun Khel or Thunderspire? Is it worth anything? Bart makes it clear that if it was claimed by someone already, he has NO intention of taking it from that party member; he is just curious.
Finally, Bart buys some Arcane reagents, brews some healing potions, restocks his food and beverage supplies, and finally (DM permitting) he will spend 1 hour and some gold (DM permitting) to enchant a +1 dagger for himself. "Never know when you might need one of these."

Lucien retreats to his room at the inn. Sounds emanating from within suggest the tiefling is engaging in a routine of personal training.

Zhuva strolls about the town on high alert. This is yet another new place, and one she does not yet trust. She looks around for signs of dwarves (since she feels most at home around them), and try to make some friends. She invites the dwarf fighter to come along if he'd like. If there are no large quantities of dwarves, she'll wander into the woods at the edge of town and try some battle practice with a stein or a discarded shield or some other object.

Buckthorn will spend some time with his kinfolk, liberated from the Horned Hold; he'll make sure they have what they need at the Inn as well as directions or provisions back to the town should they not wish to stay overlong at the Seven Pillared hall. He offers to share some of this knowledge with his kin so that they can find their way back; doing some training of his own in the meantime.

Rafa will rest up at the halfling's inn. While there he will inquire about the map and perhaps a guide or information about where it leads.

Zhuva (and Forge): You are deep underground in the seven pillared hall (see picture above). You find in the hall the Deepgem Trading Company. They trade with the dwarves of the Silversheild hold were you were until recently. Its proprietor is Ulthand Deepgem, an older dwarf with more than a few scars.
Bart: (let me know the specifics of what you want to buy) Gendar is happy to see the scepter, and gives you (all) 300 gold sovereigns for it. He hasn’t heard of the gnolls, but is very curious as to where the map leads to (do you say anything else?).
The demon statue would make a fine souvenir…though its like something Gendar might also be willing to buy. He figures he could get either magic item ritual, but you don’t think it will be cheap.
Buckthorn: You say goodbye to your clan, relieved to see them all free. Well, except for that one of them who isn’t. Rafa: there is some curiousity in the map…that its…maybe Gendar or this Ulthand is worth talking to about it. ………………………………………………………………………………..
At one point you are all in the inn, it suddenly goes quite. Rendil—the Halfling whose rescue allows you to stay here for free--whispers:
“It’s the Ordinator Arcanis”
You see a figure in deep black robes, his faced covered with a mask of gold.
“All of you, come with me”.
You realize the burly ogre Brugg is steps behind.
Rendil: “You better go”
The Ordinator says in a lower voice:
“You will not be harmed, but be ready to explain yourselves”

To Rendil Forge says "While your cashews may shrivel in the face of a silly gold mask, Forge need not explain himself to any man, if a man it is that stands before us!" Forge rolls his shoulders and cracks his knuckles and glowers at the newly arrived pair.

Part I Being the clarifications and responses to events occuring BEFORE the Man in the Mask showed up.
1) Bart tells Forge that he doesn't have access to the ritual requested. It can be purchased from Gendar, but Bart cannot afford it. "Perhaps one day if we pool our resources, but for now I have some other expenditures to make."
2) Bart divides the 300 gold evenly among the party members. "Gendar, there was thought that this map perhaps led to the Well of Demons. Does this mean anything to you?"
3) Bart asks Gendar if he could be so kind as to give him a price estimate on the "Disenchant Item" and "Transfer Enchantment" Rituals. Out of respect for the Drow, he lets him know that he will have to acquire enough money.
4) Bart asks Gendar, "Sir, how much would you be willing to give us for this fine demon statue?" Whatever Gendar says, Bart will note the amount, but act like he isn't interested in the deal. Bart's intent is that if he can afford to do so, he will "buy" the statue from the group.
5) Specifically, Bart buys 360 gold worth of arcane reagents, enough to enchant the dagger without going into his supply of reagents. He uses his two pieces of onyx towards the purchase price and/or trades them in order to get the gold. He also buys enough trail rations to replace however much were eaten, up to the original 10 days worth. He fills his wineskin.
Part II Being the part where we face the Ordinator Arcanis
Bart stands with his hands at his sides. "Am I correct to assume you represent the enigmatic and omnipresent Mages of Saruun?"

Buckthorn would try to sense motive to perceive if the Ordinator is lying.
If Buckthorn senses the Ordinator is being truthful, he whispers to Forge. "Friend, I understand your reluctance. But perhaps this is not time for a fight. If we go with this uh... scary hooded masked guy, er Ordinator. Perhaps it would be an opportunity to learn more about the mages who rule this place and what role they may play in all this. Besides, I trust Rendil. And this is no place for a fight," he concludes, glancing around the Inn.
Looking up at the Ordinator and putting on a brave face, "I for one will be glad to go with you, Ordinator, and answer what questions you may have. I have nothing to hide, nor anything to apologize for. But know - I may have a question or two of my own."

Zhuva (low) to group: I have no reason to go with the Ordinator... and no particular reason to stay behind. As you have helped me thrash the Underdwarves, I find better cause to support you in your decision. If you go, then I shall follow, but please decide quickly. I am of no temper to deal with a Savagemind tonight, and I can sense him in the offing.
